Nashville Predators: Streaky at Home, Streaky on the Road
The Nashville Predators have just lost their fifth home playoff game in a row after an improbable collapse to the Vancouver Canucks in game four. However, this doesn’t hold a candle to their road playoff losing streak that kicked off their franchise.
Upon joining the NHL in 1998, the Nashville Predators went 0-10 on the road in the playoffs spanning from 2004 until 2008. In 2004, they would lose games one, two, and five in Detroit. In 2006, they would lose games three and four in San Jose. The following year in 2007 was a repeat of 2006, losing game three and four again in San Jose, followed up by another dance with the Red Wings in 2008, to which they would lose in Detroit in games one, two, and five. The Predators finally won their first road playoff game in game one against the Blackhawks in 2010. This would be their only road win of the 2010 playoffs, as the Predators would finish with a franchise playoff road record of 1-12. In the 2011 playoffs, the Predators would finally begin to win on the road routinely.
